2007-10-09A new publication of UMass Extension, "Restoring Old-Growth Characteristics (PDF)", outlines both passive and active approaches to increasing the amount of old-growth structure in the woodlands of Massachusetts. The publication is based on Anthony D'Amato's research of old growth forests in Massachusetts.
